The Leadership Institute (LI) is a program conducted each year by HR Employee & Organizational Development (EOD) at Texas A&M University for employees who are currently in organizational leadership positions or expect to be in such positions in the near future. The institute strives to enhance employees' leadership capabilities in their current and subsequent leadership roles.
Purpose of Leadership Institute
Leadership Institute provides participants with knowledge, skills, tools, and connections to effectively lead people and organizations at Texas A&M University.
Leadership Institute is appropriate for individuals with a desire to improve their knowledge, skills and abilities to lead organizations with diverse and/or complex functions and goals.
Congratulations 2016 LI Graduates!
EOD is pleased to congratulate our recent Leadership Institute (LI) graduates. The forty-one participants each spent over 50 hours learning from experts, engaging in activities, and discussing exemplary leadership within the context of higher education. The graduation speaker was Mr. Fred McClure, Executive Director of Leadership Initiatives, Office of the Provost.
Topics included: the multiple roles of leaders; mindful leadership; breaking bias; history of higher education; government and community relations; higher education budget and finance; leading people and managing performance; role of research in higher education leading organizational change; and human resources as a strategic partner. Participants also actively engaged in leadership and teambuilding activities at Texas A&M's Challenge Works.
