How effective are your communication skills? Have you ever given someone directions that you believed were clear and concise only later to find out that they did not understand what you were telling them?

Effective communication is an essential skill for all supervisors. In addition to verbal communication, it includes aspects of non-verbal communication, listening skills, and recognizing cultural differences. A supervisor must utilize effective communication skills in order to create a clear mutual understanding with employees on common goals, directives and expectations.
